BLOCK Supply Explained
Unlimited supply. BLOCK uses an ongoing Proof-of-Stake tail emission with a bounded creation rate. Blocknet targets one new block per minute, while approved Treasury proposals can add a bounded amount at each Superblock. Because issuance remains bounded while supply grows, the percentage inflation rate declines over time.
Block Creation & Staking
Blocknet targets one block approximately every 60 seconds and rewards the wallet that produces it with 1 BLOCK. Stakers are online, synchronized Blocknet Core wallets that hold BLOCK and are unlocked for staking. A wallet staking more BLOCK has a higher probability of producing the next block.
Community-Governed Superblock Funding
Every 43,200 blocks, approximately once per month, approved proposals can mint up to 40,000 BLOCK. This is a ceiling, not an automatic payout: only the amount requested by passing proposals enters supply.
PoS Baseline & Treasury Ceiling
| Period | Target Blocks | PoS Issuance | Treasury Capacity | New BLOCK Range | Projected Supply Range | Max. Increase | Reward / Block |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day | 1,440 | 1,440 | Cycle-bound | 1,440 | 12,738,455 | 0.01% | 1 BLOCK |
| Week | 10,080 | 10,080 | Cycle-bound | 10,080 | 12,747,095 | 0.08% | 1 BLOCK |
| Superblock cycle (30d) | 43,200 | 43,200 | 0-40,000 | 43,200-83,200 | 12,780,215-12,820,215 | 0.65% | 1 BLOCK |
| 12 cycles (360d) | 518,400 | 518,400 | 0-480,000 | 518,400-998,400 | 13,255,415-13,735,415 | 7.84% | 1 BLOCK |
Live context: an estimated 2,035,367 BLOCK currently appears in CryptoID's active stake list.
Locked utility: Service Node collateral does not remove coins from supply, but each active node commits 5,000 BLOCK to network operation.
Treasury reality: 40,000 BLOCK is the maximum available per cycle. If approved proposals request less, only that lower amount is minted.
Tail Emission & Treasury Thesis
BLOCK does not stop at a fixed terminal supply. Predictable staking issuance creates a permanent security budget, while Treasury Superblocks add a transparent, community-approved corridor above it. Because absolute issuance is bounded while supply grows, the percentage inflation rate declines over time.
